Spicy Sesame Green Beans

One of our favorite flavorful side dishes. We like to serve it with egg white sandwiches or salmon.

Servings: 2 people

Ingredients
  

  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 1/2 T fresh ginger
  • 1 1/2 C green beans We like Taylor Farms Organic.
  • 1 tsp low-sodium soy sauce You can substitute with teriyaki as well.
  • 1 tsp Huy Fong chili garlic sauce It can be spicy, so adjust as you'd like.
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1 T sesame seeds
  • 1 lime Cut in half and juice.

Method
 

  1. Heat pan on Med-Hi, then add sesame oil.
  2. Chop ginger into small pieces and set aside.
  3. Once oil is heated, toss in green beans and stir for a few minutes. Add ginger. Then continue stirring for a couple more minutes, or until beans begin to blister. Turn heat down to Medium.
  4. Add soy sauce, chili sauce, honey and sesame seeds. Continue to stir. Then remove from heat after a minute or two.
  5. Top with lime juice and serve.
